Austin Piano Lessons

Each of our Austin piano instructors is a professional musician with years of teaching and performing experience. Lessons are tailored to each student’s learning style, musical taste and aspirations, whether you are discovering the piano for the first time or expanding your artistry.

Kids across Austin are discovering the joy of music one note at a time. Our teachers create engaging, age-appropriate lessons that blend play, structure and curiosity, helping young students build confidence, rhythm and musical understanding.

Angie Mead, music teacher

Austin adults love the comfort and flexibility of learning piano at home. Whether you are exploring the keys for the first time or returning after years away, our instructors design customised lessons that fit your pace and style, be it blues, jazz, pop or classical.

Our Austin guitar teachers bring expertise in acoustic, electric and classical guitar right to your home. Lessons focus on technique, music reading and creative expression, while encouraging you to play songs you love. Whether you are drawn to country, rock or singer-songwriter styles, we help you build real skill and joy in your playing.

For younger students we keep guitar hands-on and exciting, with supportive, age-appropriate methods that develop rhythm, coordination and musical curiosity.

Austin has a long tradition of singers, songwriters, performers, and musicians who use their voices as instruments of expression. Our voice teachers bring that same spirit into every lesson, helping students develop breath control, pitch, tone, range, and confidence without losing what makes their voice uniquely theirs. Rather than trying to make every singer sound the same, our instructors build lessons around the music each student actually loves to sing.
For children, voice lessons can be a powerful way to build confidence as well as musical ability. Our Austin voice teachers use age-appropriate exercises and songs to help young singers develop healthy technique while keeping lessons playful and encouraging. Because lessons happen in the student’s home, children can learn in a familiar environment where they feel comfortable experimenting with their voice and finding their own sound.  Read More

Austin Music Lesson FAQs

How much do lessons cost?

Lessons are $75 per week, with a half-price trial lesson for new students. Weekly lessons provide the consistency that helps students build confidence, develop strong musical skills, and make steady progress over time.

What happens if we need to reschedule?

We understand that life gets busy. If you let us know at least 24 hours in advance, we’ll happily reschedule your lesson at no additional charge. Our goal is to make music lessons fit your family’s schedule whenever possible.

Do I need to own an instrument before starting?

Having an instrument at home is the best way to get the most out of lessons, but if you’re still deciding what to buy, we’re happy to help. We can recommend trusted local music stores, rental options, and the right instrument based on your student’s age, goals, and budget.

How are teachers matched?

We don’t simply assign the next available teacher. Every family is personally matched based on the student’s age, musical interests, personality, learning style, experience level, scheduling needs, location, and the teacher’s strengths and teaching style. Our goal is to create a relationship where students feel comfortable, stay motivated, and continue learning for years.

Can siblings take lessons?

Absolutely! Many families schedule siblings back-to-back on the same day for added convenience. For younger siblings, it’s often a very cost-effective option to share a one-hour lesson, allowing each child to receive individual attention while also learning together during portions of the lesson. This works especially well for beginners close in age.

Who do you teach?

Students from around age 5 or 6 through adulthood. If the curiosity is there, we have a teacher for it.

Do you cover all of Austin?

Yes. We serve neighborhoods throughout Austin and surrounding Travis County communities.

What about instruments?

We don’t sell or rent instruments directly, but we know the local landscape well. King’s Keyboard House is an excellent starting point for piano, and Oz’s Music or Music Go Round are great options for guitar.

Do you teach ukulele?

We do. It’s one of our most requested instruments and a wonderful starting point for younger students.

Not having to drive across Austin for another after-school activity has been a huge help. Our son loves his guitar teacher, and the lessons are always built around music he actually wants to play.

The teacher-matching process was simple, and we really appreciated the attention that went into finding the right fit. Our daughter looks forward to her voice lesson every week.
