A Creative, Human-Centered Teaching Style

Kyleigh’s own musical education included experiences with both strict, traditional instruction and more human-centered teachers. Those experiences shaped her belief that students learn best when they are developing real musical skills without losing their personal connection to music.

Her lessons include important fundamentals such as technique, sight-reading, and theory, but they can also incorporate improvisation, creative exercises, and music chosen around the student’s interests.

Rather than treating every student exactly the same, Kyleigh considers what each person hopes to gain from lessons and looks for ways to make music a positive part of their life.

Education & Performance Background

Kyleigh began playing flute in 2011 and added piccolo in 2014, voice in 2016, piano in 2017, and guitar in 2020.

During high school, she performed with the Longmont Youth Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble and participated in orchestras, marching bands, jazz bands, and small ensembles.

Her vocal background includes jazz choirs, concert choirs, church choirs, solo singing, and recording experience with both a jazz ensemble and a progressive rock band.

Kyleigh earned an Associate of Arts in Music from Front Range Community College and continues her musical education through jazz voice studies at the University of Colorado Boulder.
